Global Chief Marketing Officer, Direct-to-Consumer

Patrizio “Pato” Spagnoletto serves as Global Chief Marketing Officer, Direct-to-Consumer. In this position, Spagnoletto oversees a unified global streaming marketing organization that drives subscription growth for the company’s streaming platforms, including Max and discovery+. He spearheaded the go-to-market strategy for Max, the company’s unified streaming platform, now available in the US, Latin America, and European markets, with more launches planned in additional territories, including Asia. He plays a key leadership role in establishing Max as a must-have service for consumers around the world with broad responsibilities for branding, content marketing, subscriber growth, retention & engagement, marketing science, research and media. 

In addition to the streaming marketing team he leads, Spagnoletto also works in close partnership with U.S. networks and local international marketing teams to leverage all of Ժ’s assets.

Spagnoletto most recently served as Global CMO, Direct-to-Consumer at Discovery, Inc. Before then, he served as EVP and Head of Marketing for Hulu, where he oversaw the company’s marketing efforts and was critical in the impressive subscriber growth across both the SVOD and live TV businesses. He led a team of marketers responsible for creating and executing campaigns and events across brand, creative, subscriber growth, and consumer research. Prior to Hulu, Spagnoletto served in leadership positions at Steelhouse, Farmers Insurance and Yahoo!.

Spagnoletto holds a BA in Economics from Lafayette College and is an Advisory Board Member of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He is married with two children and resides in Los Angeles.
